Crescent City series by Kristen Painter – House of Comarré spin off series

I am still reading the second book buy I had to add this series because it is great. This is a spin off from House of Comarré series and it plays out in Crescent City, New Orleans, which was visited by Chrisabelle and Malkom in the previous series, and it is the place where we met Augustine for the first time. Augustine is a wonderful character, strong and lovable. Harlow is the main female character, however, I am still warming up to her. I am not worried though, because there are two more books to read and a lot might happen. The world is being developed from the previous series and it is amazing how consistent and detailed it is. What is even better is that most of the world is already known and it feels like visiting an old vacation destination. At the moment I am half way through the third book and I can wholeheartedly recommend this series. It is not necessary to read excellent House of Comarré series to be able to follow Crescent City, however, it will be much more interesting if you do.

Reading order is: Blood Rights (House of Comarré #1), Flesh and Blood (House of Comarré #2), Bad Blood (House of Comarré #3), Out for Blood (House of Comarré #4), Last Blood (House of Comarré #5) and Forbidden Blood (House of Comarré prequel),  House of the Rising Sun (Crescent City  #1), City of Eternal Night (Crescent City  #2) and Garden of Dreams and Desires (Crescent City  #3).

I really got attached to these characters and I was so sad to see the end of the series, and that might explain why it’s taking me so long to finish Crescent City – there are no more books left! But on the other hand, you can be sure that the story is told the way it  was supposed to be told and there are no unnecessary pages or words floating around and you don’t get a chance to get tired of the series.
