This is a spin off, and it is not necessary to read the other books in order to follow this one, but it would give you a better atmosphere and understanding where Jayne Frost landed. Although there is some romance, this is paranormal mystery unlike Nocturne Falls, which is paranormal romance.
Kristen Painter created a new world yet again. This one is lighter than House of Comarre, Crescent City and Sin City Collectors. It is very well developed and beautifully written. I am looking forward to the next books and further developments, because this book left me wanting to know more about Nocturne falls and its inhabitants. Some parts even had me laughing out loud.
